Subway App
The Subway app is the only route into Subway Rewards in the UK, which makes it more than a convenience if you eat at Subway with any regularity. It also handles ordering ahead, which solves the one genuine problem with a build to order menu: the queue.
This page covers what the app actually does and where it is worth the phone space, without pretending a sandwich app is exciting.
What the App Is For
Four things, in the order most people end up using them.
Order ahead and skip the queue
You build the sub in the app and collect it. At lunchtime in a busy store this is the difference between two minutes and fifteen.
Rewards
Points collect automatically on app orders, and in store if you scan before paying. There is no card scheme running alongside it in the UK.
Personalised offers
The offers tab is where the rotating promotions live. They are account specific, which is why no site can publish a reliable list of them.
Saved builds
Your usual, kept. Worth more than it sounds if your order has six modifications and you order it every week.
Setting It Up Properly
The whole thing takes a few minutes, and step three is the one worth not skipping.
- 1
Download from your phone's store
The Subway app is on both the App Store and Google Play. Search for Subway and check the publisher is Subway itself rather than a lookalike.
- 2
Register an account
An account is what Rewards attaches to, so ordering as a guest costs you the points. Register once and the rest is automatic.
- 3
Set your usual store
Prices and availability are per store, because each is a franchise. Setting the right one means the menu and prices you see are the ones you will actually pay.
- 4
Scan in store, before you pay
For counter purchases, scanning happens before payment. Afterwards is too late, and the points are not backdated.
When the App Beats Walking In
Ordering ahead is worth it at the two predictable pinch points: lunch between roughly midday and two, and any store attached to a station or a service area. Outside those, walking in is often just as quick, and you get to watch the sub being built, which is the part the app cannot replicate.
It is also the cheaper route than delivery by a clear margin. A collection order in the app keeps the in store price and skips the fees, while a third party delivery app adds a markup and earns you no points. If the store is walkable, the app plus your feet is the best value combination on offer.
Prices in the app are set by your chosen store, so they can differ slightly from the figures on this site. Every price here comes from a reference store's collection menu, which makes it a close guide rather than a promise. The full menu and the meal planner are the right places to plan before you open the app.
Subway App Questions
Yes, on both the App Store and Google Play. Rewards is built into it and needs no separate subscription.
In the UK, yes. Rewards runs through the app and there is no physical card alternative, so a registered account is the way in.
That is the app's main function, and it is the best value route: you keep the collection price, skip delivery fees and still earn points. 0 of the 1,808 stores we track support online ordering in some form.
Because each UK store is a franchise setting its own prices, and the app shows your chosen store's. Figures on this site come from one reference store's collection menu, which makes them a close guide rather than an exact match.
Support varies, and it is worth checking in the app before you rely on it. Gift cards are primarily an in store instrument in the UK.
It carries ingredient information, but for an allergy the authoritative source is Subway's full allergen chart for your exact build. Our allergen guide explains how to read it and which choices change the answer.
